Kevin Hanrahan is President of Optimus Recruiting, LLC and has over 30 years of experience recruiting Chief Financial Officers and Board Members for Fortune 1000 Companies nationwide.  He started his career at Russell Reynolds Associates, where he became one of the youngest partners in the history of the firm. From there, he co-built, then sold a national boutique executive recruiting business, Crist Partners, to Korn/Ferry International. Subsequently, Kevin became the Managing Director of the combined entity's Global CFO Recruiting Practice. Optimus Recruiting was founded 15 years ago with operations in Dallas and Chicago.

Originally from Homewood, Illinois, Kevin and his wife Kathy have two daughters (Emily and Quincy) and one son (Ben).  Kevin is active in the Dallas community, serving as the Chair Elect of the Board of Directors of the Dallas Zoological Society and on the Advisory Board of Directors of the Hegi Family Career Development Center at SMU.  Also, he is a member of the Dallas Assembly, Leadership Dallas Alumni Association and American Ireland Fund of Texas. Kevin is on the President’s Commission on White House Fellows and the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board of Directors in Washington, D.C., too.

In the past in Chicago, he served on the Board of Trustees of the Chicago Zoological Society/Brookfield Zoo, Board of Directors of Communities-In-Schools Chicago, Opportunity, Inc., and the North Shore Senior Center as well as on the Neuroscience’s Leadership Council at Rush University Medical Center and the President’s Council of the Museum of Science and Industry Chicago.  In addition, he was Chair of the Chicago Public Education Fund’s Leadership Council, President of the Hinsdale Elementary School District 181 Foundation and Vice President of the District’s School Board and, from 1994 to 1996 a Member of the Illinois House of Representatives representing the North Shore suburbs of Chicago.  

Kevin received a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and Political Science from Northwestern University in 1980. In 1982, he earned a Master of Management degree in Marketing and Organizational Behavior from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University. Kevin is a former Certified Elementary School Teacher in Illinois.
